Hi All,
I downloaded the new vista BETA iso image last night and after 8 hours of waiting for it to complete I then tried to install it to a virtual PC drive by using the "capture ISO image" function in VPC 2004. However it then told me that it is not a valid ISO image. Anyone else experience this problem or have any solution? (other than burning it to dvd as i dont have a dvd writer)
Thanks, Chris

Install Vista BETA from ISO image
It's because it's too big. Recommendations are not to use VPC, but VMWare or Virtual Server 2005 R2. Options to install can be found here: http://www.vistabase.co.uk/welcome.php?getstarted

Have you checked the integrity of the ISO to see if it is not corrupted or damaged? I use the one from Ahead Nero http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html
Here are the MD5/CRC values for x86 or x64 depending on which every ISO you downloaded:
x86 - File Size = 3.12 GB (3,355,598,848 bytes) - CRC Value = 0x67E089E0 - MD5 Value = 0E733AB1A8E8FF9A8684FD3639332773 x64 - File Size = 4.01 GB (4,309,368,832 bytes) - CRC Value = 0x48697711 - MD5 Value = E43502D0A15EADD551119D5639859E04
Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive and open it and it will automatically start the varification process and generate the has in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are safe. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

had the same prob with response not a valid iso image - solved - the download cannot be burnt to disc as data - if you have nero go to open saved product or disc image - on nero suite - this will give option to burn as iso file - must be burnt to dvd though cos if size - external dvd burners are excellent and reasonable price on ebay - hope helps "Andre Da Costa [Extended64]" wrote:
